The Opportunity  
Everyday Health Group Pregnancy & Parenting is looking for a backend software developer with experience building, maintaining, and supporting public user-facing REST and GraphQL web APIs using Node.js and TypeScript on AWS infrastructure, using relational and non-relational datastores.  

Key Responsibilities  

  • Implement, enhance, and document features in backend APIs  
  • Work collaboratively across teams in an agile environment  
  • Continually improve availability, observability, scalability, performance and reliability of our services  
  • Help increase code quality, organization, automation and continuous delivery
  • Participation in On-Call rotation  
  • Perform related duties as assigned  

Job Qualifications  

  • 3+ years of experience of building REST or GraphQL backend APIs using Node.js + TypeScript for high-traffic applications  
  • Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational data stores (eg MySQL, DynamoDB, Elasticache)  
  • Strong knowledge of multiple core AWS services, such as Lambda, SQS and SNS, S3, API Gateway, ECS, and CloudSearch  
  • Experience with VCS (Git), issue tracking (JIRA), and documentation (Confluence, OpenAPI)  
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins/GitHub Actions) and observability tools (Cloudwatch, DataDog, ELK)  
  • Experience with containerized applications (Docker) and IaC tools (CDK/Terraform)  
  • Ability to learn and work with other technologies quickly

Note: The salary compensation for this role is $115k to $135k. Individual pay within the compensation range for this business unit specific role is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, education and training, as well as business and company performance.
